Inspired by photographs of the Glengoyne distillery

In this painting, the third of four in homage to the Glengoyne distillery of Ian Macleod Distillers, I tried to reflect how the character of the malt is forged in the stills that, at each heart of the cut, shape the spirit that will later mature in casks, transforming it into the great Glengoyne whisky.
Nestled in a hidden valley at the foot of the Campsie Hills and crafting liquid gold since 1833, the Glengoyne distillery has mastered the rich processes of whisky making, reflected in the excellence of its malt.
For nearly two centuries, they have perfected the art of transforming grain into spirit, dedicating the time necessary to ensure that every drop of their whisky possesses the unique and distinctive Glengoyne style.
