For this exhibition I chose the painting "The Glenmorangie Stills", a work that shows some of the stills at this distillery in the Scottish Highlands, known as "the giraffes" due to their extreme height, making them the tallest of all the distilleries in Scotland.
The aesthetic is reminiscent of Baroque chiaroscuro, highlighting the shine of the copper of the first still in the foreground, in a silent, solitary nocturnal setting that underlines the grandeur of these great distillers.
An atmosphere of mystery invites you to delve deeper into the work, as if you could glimpse what lies hidden behind these enormous structures where the alchemy of whiskey transforms alcohol into the new spirit.
For the live painting, I chose to begin my tribute to the Glen Moray Distillery with a painting depicting the purity of their freshly bottled whisky, shot through by light filtering through a window.
The photographic record shows the process, starting with the illuminated background and continuing with the lines of the window and the pedestal where the whiskey bottle finally rests.
