The name Tamnavulin is the Gaelic translation of "mill on the hill", and owes its name in part to the historic old carding mill that stands on the site of the distillery.
Local farmers brought their sheep fleeces here in the summer months to turn them into wool.
The story of Tamnavulin began in 1966 with the opening of the distillery in the rural village of Tomnavoulin, Scotland.
Although the doors were closed in 1995, they reopened in 2007 following a major refurbishment of the distillery.
Since then they have produced an exceptional single malt whiskey with true Speyside character; rich, soft and honeyed.
