Inspired on a photography of the distillery
Kavalan Distillery has been pioneering the art of single malt whiskey in Yilan County, Taiwan since 2005.
The double distillation method is applied at the Kavalan Distillery. Stills are usually run in pairs.
The first distillation is to separate the alcohol and water. The second is made up of three parts: the close-ups (the first spirit out of the still), the heart, and the feints (the last spirit out of the still).
The best part of the heart is collected and packed in barrels for maturation.

Bladnoch's rich history dates back to 1817 when John and Thomas McClelland first obtained a license to distill whisky on their Bladnoch farm in the Scottish Lowlands.
For nearly a century, successive generations of the McClelland family grew and modernized the distillery.
Over the next 80 years, Bladnoch Distillery changed hands several times and continued to produce the finest Lowland whisky.

Inspired by a photograph of Glenfarclas Distillery.
Thanks to my very creative friend John Robertson at @scotchwhisky.studio for giving this canvas the assertive name.
Glenfarclas Distillery is a Speyside whiskey distillery in Ballindalloch, Scotland.
Glenfarclas translates to valley of green grass. The distillery has been run by its owners, the Grant family, since 1865 when it was purchased by John Grant.

Ardnamurchan - A nature connection whisky
Serie: Distilleries
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
Size: 60 x 50 cm

Inspired by a photograph from @scotchwhiskycom
Ardnamurchan Distillery opened in July 2014 and is one of Scotland's most remote distilleries, located on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula just north of the Isle of Mull and south of the Isle of Skye.
This distillery runs on renewable energy to reduce its carbon footprint.
It is powered by both hydroelectric power and a large biomass boiler using wood from the nearby Ardnamurchan Forest.
The boiler provides heat to the malts on the distillery floor.
Drawing the water for its whisky production from springs above the distillery, it uses the nearby Glenmore River as a source of refreshing water.

Rooted in centuries of illicit distillation, Raasay provides the ingredients for the perfect drink. Every drop of spirit is distilled, matured and bottled on the island using water from the Raasay distillery well.
The magical Isle of Raasay lies off the west coast of Scotland in the Inner Hebrides, separate from the Isle of Skye by a short 25-minute ferry ride.
