Celebrating the first release of “The Hearach”, the first single malt whiskey from the Isle of Harris
Hearach is the first historic single malt whiskey from the Isle of Harris and revives distilling traditions lost during the Pabbay Clearances in the 1840s.
This new whiskey is the result of a considered conversation between people and the place, coming together to create an elegant spirit of complexity and character.
The work of the men and women of the island is intertwined with the natural world to weave a whiskey of distinction from the Outer Hebrides.
The people local distills every drop of this new tipple to produce a special spirit that has been matured, married and bottled on the Isle of Harris.
The Hearach, the first single malt Scotch whiskey release from the Isle of Harris, is bottled at 46% abv, non-chill filtered and contains no artificial colors and can be purchased starting today, September 23, 2023, at www.harrisdistillery.com

Inspired by a photograph of Port Ellen Distillery
The distillery is owned by Diageo and its construction is currently under the direction of Alexander McDonald, an Islay resident who held previous positions at the Kilchoman, Lagavulin and Caol Ila distilleries. Plans are to reopen the distillery in 2023 and wake it from its long, silent slumber.

Alongside Isle of Tiree Single Malt Scotch Whisky and Isle of Tiree Single Grain Scotch Whisky – Rye, Tiree Whisky Company are also the producers of both Tyree Gin and Hebridean Pink Gin.

Inspired on a photography of the distillery
Kavalan Distillery has been pioneering the art of single malt whiskey in Yilan County, Taiwan since 2005.
The double distillation method is applied at the Kavalan Distillery. Stills are usually run in pairs.
The first distillation is to separate the alcohol and water. The second is made up of three parts: the close-ups (the first spirit out of the still), the heart, and the feints (the last spirit out of the still).
The best part of the heart is collected and packed in barrels for maturation.

Inspirada en una fotografía de @bladnochwhisky
Bladnoch's rich history dates back to 1817 when John and Thomas McClelland first obtained a license to distill whisky on their Bladnoch farm in the Scottish Lowlands.
For nearly a century, successive generations of the McClelland family grew and modernized the distillery.
Over the next 80 years, Bladnoch Distillery changed hands several times and continued to produce the finest Lowland whisky.
