One of the smallest distilleries in Scotland, Oban was founded in 1794 and is located at sea level in Oban Bay, 208 paces from the sea.
Oban is a Gaelic word meaning 'little bay'.

Rising up to 26 feet (nearly 8 meters) tall, the Jura seats are some of the tallest Scottish distilleries.
Sending them to the tiny island was hard work, but they are so important in creating the smooth spirit and distinctive character of Jura Whisky.

One of three active distilleries in Campbeltown, Glengyle assembled a lot of equipment from other closed distilleries across Scotland.
With the daunting task of getting Glengyle up and running again, Mr. McHardy has done very well since the early 2000s.
The stills (one mash and one spirit) were supplied by Ben Wyvis Distillery, tweaked to get the particular taste profile of Kilkerran Single Malt, which has a soft character with floral and delicately fruity notes.
