Bailando en el Cielo

Dancing in the Sky

Dancing in the Sky

Serie: Large Format Artworks
Technique: Latex on canvas
Size: 130 x 190 cm
Year: 2007

This series of paintings was commissioned to set the scene for a ballet performance at the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.

All human figures are presented in dance positions.

Their bodies, in black and white, express, through movement, the different feelings that invade their souls during the dance.

The backdrops represent the heavens in which the dancers soar at the climax of their inspiration, at the peak of their performance.

Each outfit accompanies the movement of the bodies, contrasting with the sky in the background, showing a palette of pure and bright colors that impact the viewer's retina, but without distracting them from the pure action that takes place on stage in real time.

Ángel de la Melancolía

Angel of Melancholy

Angel of Melancholy

Serie: Large Format Artworks
Technique: Latex on canvas
Size: 95 x 135 cm
Year: 2007

Angels appear in the course of the history of the Jewish people, as messengers of God, as guides; as those who announce the law of God.

Throughout the entire Bible, they are represented as a body of spiritual beings who are intermediaries between God and men. The Bible not only represents angels as our guardians, but also as our intercessors before our Creator.

Etymologically it comes from the Latin Angelus; from the Greek aggelos; from the Hebrew word "one who goes" or "sent", messenger; and it is used in Hebrew to designate both a divine and a human messenger.

Angels can take on human appearance.

They are generally described as extraordinarily beautiful beings that possess several pairs of wings (although pictorially they are usually represented in human form and a single pair of wings).

The angel in this painting is located in a terrestrial environment that suggests an architectural space with Gothic characteristics, hinting at a pointed arch, a typical feature of the cathedrals of this historical period.

Her gaze is directed downward, and his face is sad, an idea that is reinforced by the earth tones in the background.

However, a strong luminous presence arises at the top of the composition, which ignites the confidence and hope that all affliction will pass and be overcome by faith in divine grace.

Ángel del Amanecer

Angel of the Sunrise

Angel of the Sunrise

Serie: Large Format Artworks
Technique: Latex on canvas
Size: 95 x 135 cm
Year: 2007

An angel is an ethereal being present in many religions, whose duties are to assist and serve God.

They typically act as messengers, as believed in the three main monotheistic religions and within many ideologies and cultures, angels are creatures of protection and purity who act as intermediaries between God and man.

Etimológicamente viene del latín ángelus; del griego aggelos; de la palabra hebrea «uno que va» o «enviado», mensajero; y es usada en hebreo para designar tanto a un mensajero divino como a uno humano.

Angels can take on human appearance.

They are generally described as extraordinarily beautiful beings that possess several pairs of wings (although pictorially they are usually represented in human form and a single pair of wings).

The angel in this painting is observing a star brighter than the rest, which recalls the famous "Star of Bethlehem", while it is suspended in the immensity of a cosmic background.

Her face is not visible to us, since he has turned towards the light, but even so, his entire body posture hints at a certain fascination and veneration towards this mystical star that has captivated him.

Ángel del Pájaro de Fuego

Angel of the Firebird

Angel of the Firebird

Serie: Large Format Artworks
Technique: Latex on canvas
Size: 160 x 186 cm
Year: 2007

In Russian folklore, the Firebird (жар-птица, zhar-ptitsa), is a glowing magical bird from a distant land, which is both a blessing and a condemnation for its captor.

The firebird is invariably described as a great bird of majestic plumage that glows brightly with red, amber and yellow light, like a bonfire that is only the past of a turbulent flame.

Feathers do not stop glowing if removed, and a feather can illuminate a large room if it is not covered.

In later iconography, the firebird's shape is generally in the shape of a small fire-colored peacock, with a crest on its head and tail feathers with bright "eyes".

The concept of the firebird has parallels in the Iranian legends of magical birds, in the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale of "The Golden Bird", and Russian magical birds like Sirin.

The history of the search itself closely parallels that of the Armenian Hazaran Blbul.

However, in the Armenian tale, the bird does not shine brightly but makes the earth flourish with its song.

It is also found as a sacred spirit for many Native American tribes.

The firebird is a fundamental element in aboriginal mythology, since the thunder, the most important aerial spirit, depends on it as the voice of the Great Spirit that speaks from the clouds.

Thunder can come from the firebird's eyes or from its beak.

By attracting spectacular storms across the grasslands of many tribes' lands, the firebird fulfills its commitment to irrigate vegetation and prevent drought.

It is related to the Phoenix Bird.

In this composition the Fire Bird and an Angel are united that, suspended in a sky dotted by the red and amber flames of its feathers, drops flowers towards the earth, as an offering of nature to humanity.

Ángel del Atardecer

Sunset Angel

Sunset Angel

Serie: Large Format Artworks
Technique: Latex on canvas
Size: 118 x 187 cm
Year: 2007

This angel is inspired by the image of a sculpture that presides over a tomb in the Recoleta Cemetery in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In this composition, which represents an angel from the Apocalypse, the angel's feet sink into a sunset cloud and one of his hands extends towards the stars, enclosing some of them between his fingers, as if they were submitting to his will and it. will crown with their light.

His other hand holds a trumpet, a musical instrument that, in the course of Israel's history, was used as a symbol of public warning of impending action, and in the Christian tradition, identifies powerful angels who were designated by God, after the opening of the seventh seal, to warn humanity about the severe judgment that is about to fall upon it.

Through these angels, God dramatically communicates His complete and impressive authority, manifesting in a majestic way over the Earth and over a race of men who destroy their environment, despite the fact that He is always calling the men to repentance, throughout history, to avoid it.

(Rev. 8: 6) "And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to blow them"
